Never had the opportunity to meet him personally, however he had this strong but calm energy that was felt whenever he was around. Indeed he was one of the greatest leaders ever.

Graham Mackay was indeed the master of human capital development, the mentor of human spirit and the propenent of competence across the organisation. In my career at SAB I was fortunate enough to meet this “Business Extraordinaire” two-times working for Polokwane and Chamdor Breweries during their Best Brewery Awards tour. This was a transitional period for SAB in terms of its VMV (vision, mission and values). To better understand what he stood for quickly browse through the values of SAB “Accountability is clear and personal, our people are our enduring advantage and we work and win in teams”.

Yes the body of the “Business Extraordinaire” may be at the grave, but his human spirit and life memories remains within the values of the organisation.

Rest in Peace Mr Mackay and thank you for expanding brand SA beyond the south tip of Africa.

    Regards,

    Tolane Kotsi (Former SAB Employee)

I always envied and respected Graham Mackay as a leader and strategist. He ensure SAB dominance in South Africa by making sure that all processes are effective and efficient before embarking on mergers and acquisitions internationally.

I loved the fact that he also made sure that these companies operated the SAB way by deploying South Africans all over the world wherever SAB was represented or acquired or merged with another company.

he was admired by many for his vision and strategy he used to make the SAB one of the top three brewers in the world.

I was Sales Manager at Mafikeng in the Central Region from 2003 to 2005.
